Von einigen Alben wurden mehrere Versionen (Pressungen) veröffentlicht. Es gibt die erste Pressung, die für Sammler sehr wertvoll sein kann. Wenn diese ausverkauft ist, wird eine neue Pressung hergestellt, die Repress oder Neuauflage genannt wird. Diese können sich leicht unterscheiden, z. B. durch eine andere Hülle oder schwereres Vinyl.
Manchmal werden ältere Alben neu gemastert, um die Klangqualität zu verbessern. Auch dafür wird eine neue Pressung hergestellt. Unterschiede im Artwork oder kleine Produktionsfehler können eine bestimmte Version attraktiver machen.
Was macht den Preisunterschied aus?
Bei Platten, die nicht neu sind, wird der Marktwert durch Seltenheit und den Zustand sowohl der Platte als auch der Hülle bestimmt. Die Preisgestaltung basiert auf Angebot und Nachfrage und ob eine Version limitiert oder nummeriert ist.
Welche Variante soll ich wählen?
Wenn es hauptsächlich um die Musik geht, ist eine Repress eine gute Wahl. Eine Original- oder nummerierte Ausgabe hat eine andere Art von Anziehungskraft.

European "Limited Deluxe Edition"; additional DVD contains a full 5.1 surround sound mix and a 24 bit high resolution stereo mix, as well as an "Extras" section with lyrics & credits.
Audio options on DVD:

Although the disc carries the DVD-Audio logo, it does not contain any DVD-Audio contents. The audio is only available through the DVD-Video section, and there is no high resolution or lossless version of the surround mix available on this disc.
Both discs are housed in a single gatefold card sleeve and come in a cardboard slipbox, together with a 40 page book with lyrics and Lasse Hoile images.
The barcode is not printed on the artwork (probably on a sticker).
